What a Crabbing Charter Looks Like
A Chesapeake Bay crabbing charter is the most hands-on trip we run. Instead of watching rod tips, your group works the gear with the crew, pulls blue crabs over the rail, and sorts keepers on deck. No experience is needed - the crew supplies everything and shows everyone what to do, so kids and first-timers are in the middle of the action within minutes of leaving the dock.
That makes crabbing a favorite for families, mixed-age groups, and crews where not everyone wants to fish. Everyone gets a job, the deck stays busy, and the trip ends the way a Maryland day on the water should - talking about the crab feast to come.
Crabbing runs spring through fall on the Chesapeake, with the heart of the season in the warm months. It is also our headline trip every August, when Maryland pauses rockfish (striped bass) season from August 1 through August 31. The crabs do not take the month off, and neither do we.
Trips depart from Queen Anne Marina, 412 Congressional Dr, Stevensville, MD 21666 - an easy drive from Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. Morning and afternoon windows are available on many dates, and you book the whole boat, so the day belongs to your group.
To reserve a date, choose the Crabbing Charter trip type on the availability calendar, or call and the team will help match a date and boat to your group.
